Chef/Cook
We are searching for a Cook/Chef to lead the operation of our commercial kitchen. The successful applicant will be required to cook and prepare morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for up to 104 children per day, from babies to pre-school age.
To be considered for the role, you will require:
- Food supervisor certificate
- High attention to kitchen hygiene
- Cooking experience, preferably in a commercial setting but not essential
- Knowledge of the Food Safety Standards
- Able to adapt menus for allergies and dietary requirements
Role Requirements
We know the first five years of a child’s life are crucial to their development and we are committed to giving them the best start. This includes providing nutritious and delicious foods.
You will be responsible for planning nutritious menus following Nutrition Australia guidelines, and cooking/preparing the meals onsite alongside a kitchenhand (once occupancy increases). You will be required to order stock and work within a budget.
Our centre offers a mini master chef program which you will implement with each room in collaboration with the kitchen hand
Permanent Part-time
This is a permanent part-time role for up to 37.5 hours per week, 7:00am till 3:00pm with a renumeration of $32 – $38 per hour
